The 2017 Tartan Ball will be held on Saturday, January 28th!
We held our first Annual Tartan Ball to Celebrate the Life & Times of Robert Burns in January 2015, and was repeated in 2016. This black tie formal (kilted) affair is held all across Scotland on January 25th every year, an annual celebration of Scotland’s National Poet Robert Burns. It’s a grand evening, complete with the ceremonial piping in of the Haggis and the Address of the Haggis.
The traditional Piping of the Haggis, the formal Address of the Haggis, and the Toast to the Lassies and Response to the Laddies makes the evening. Included in the ticket is a dram of whiskey for toasting, a starter with haggis (a Scottish National Dish), a wonderful 4-course meal catered by Delectables Catering, and music by Gloria West & The Gents, a local “Old School Stride – Swing Jazz with a Sultry Twist”! Check them out on www.gloriawestmusic.com and their Facebook page: Gloria West & the Gents. We are sure to also get you up on the floor for some Scottish dancing tool!
It’s a very classy affair, and a whole lot of fun. If you’ve ever wanted to wear a kilt, but have either been shy or just don’t know how, please contact info@lothiankiltsbagpipes, or go into the Lothian Kilt Rentals & Bagpipe Supplies shop at 1570 Main Street, Dunedin (near CR 1/Keene). They can fix you up with a rental from top to toe! Lothian Kilt Rentals are also selling tickets to the Ball. Hours vary, please call (727) 733-6838.
Thanks to those who bought tickets, they are no longer on sale.
